Tables are turning on the Uganda HIV/Aids success story. The gains made in the last two decades are fast getting eroded by the increasing number of new infections. A top UNAIDS official has expressed concern that the country is losing the fight against HIV/Aids, with the infection rates steadily rising.

Mr Musa Bungudu, the UNAIDS country coordinator, says Uganda is the only country in the Eastern and Southern Africa with rising HIV/Aids infection rates and according to the 2011 National HIV Indicator Survey, the prevalence rates among Ugandans between the ages of 15 to 19 are going up. It now stands at 7.3 % and even higher in women at 8.3% up from 6.4% in the 2004-2005 survey.

We at Hope Worldwide Uganda believe the story can be turned around once again and we can have the better of HIV/AIDS once again. We have come up with community involving steps to tackle HIV/AIDS right from the grassroots involving behavioural change, free HIV testing and counselling and support for infected and affected individuals.

We call upon all our dear core funders and donors, schools, non-governmental organization, well wishers and all other partners to join hands with Hope Worldwide International Uganda to help fight HIV/AIDS in Uganda. By donating to hope worldwide international Uganda you will be among those changing the lives in Uganda.
