Uganda is one of the countries with the highest early and forced marriage. 15% of girls are married off before the age of 18 years and 40% of Ugandan girls are re married off before their 18th birth day (UNICEF 2011). Around 50 per cent of all women are married by the age of 18 years, according to UNICEF 2011 figures despite the law setting 18 years as the legal age of marriage.

Hope worldwide international Uganda has started engaging communities on how to reduce these problems in our society, and so far it’s trying to change the attitudes of people towards marrying off their kids and there is has been a positive response from the locals.

We call upon our dear core funders and donors, non-governmental organization and all other partners to join hands with Hope Worldwide International Uganda to eliminate child early forced marriages in Uganda.
